Many of my friends tell me they are intimidated to bake from scratch. Whether it is the ever-growing blob of bread dough on the counter or the tricky cake recipe that seems like it will fall at any moment, scratch baking just seems overwhelming.
Relieve heart burn. Baking soda is an effective way to relieve heart burn and indigestion. The common problem for heart burn is acid. Baking soda is the opposite of acid, it is an antacid, which makes it effective in reducing heart burn. Stir 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda into 1/2 cup of water and drink for a safe and effective antacid.
Imagine you have a recipe that says “Let the dough rise for one hour”. Well it could take an hour or it could take three hours! We don’t know unless we know our dough is at the temperature the recipe calls for.
Bleached and unbleached flours are interchangeable. The real difference comes down to taste and subtle texture. Ultimately it doesn’t really matter whether you use bleached or unbleached flour.
Pie pans are only meant for baking pies. I know that sounds simplistic, but it’s the truth. Pie pans are usually round and have a flat bottom with sides all around.
The improved flavor and graininess of whole wheat flour is due to it being ground out of the entire wheat berry. When a softer berry is used to create the flour it can be used to make a great pastry. This much softer whole grain is ideal for hot cakes, pastry and even your basic muffin recipes.
Smear about a teaspoon of vegetable oil on the base and sides of the pan. Sprinkle about a tablespoon of flour in the pan. Tap and shake the pan to spread the flour all over the oily surface. Finally, line the base of the pan with the prepared butter paper liner.
First of all, you need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius. Then grease the baking dish light. Next season the tilapia fillets with salt, pepper and seasoning powder in a considerable amount according to personal taste and preferences. Arrange the seasoned fish in a single layer on the baking dish. Place the sliced lemon over the fillets and it is recommended to use only two slices for a piece of fillet to ensure it covers most of the surface. Bake the fillet uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes in the oven or until fish can be easily flaked with a fork. While the fish is being baked, you can prepare the mixture of sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, and dill in a bowl. When the fish is done, you can serve the mixture with the fish.
