I have been a baker all my life. From the time I could stand on a chair in the kitchen, I baked every chance I got. My family loved it that I had this baking obsession, because it meant a lot of homemade treats for them.
Here’s something you need to bear in mind. Even if you are anxious to get rid of your acne, start out slowly. Baking soda can irritate your skin if it’s too sensitive. Start with once or twice a week and see how your skin reacts to it. Later on you can use it more often. You can also mix baking powder with a bit of neem oil or tea tree oil to make it more potent. Both of these oils are anti-bacterial and anti-septic.
Using baking soda is also very easy to do. What you should do first is get some baking soda from your kitchen. Place this inside a container with holes in it, such as an empty talcum powder container. Next, bring it to the portion of the carpet where the bad odor is coming from. Pour the baking soda on the area using the talcum powder container until you have a layer of it on the affected area. Leave the baking soda overnight to allow it to absorb the dirt and the germs and bacteria which are causing the nasty odor. The following morning, get a heavy duty vacuum cleaner and remove the baking soda from the carpet.
Baking tools and supplies are needed for baking. Aside from having an oven you will need other materials in order to start baking. Measuring cups and spoons are needed to get exact measurements of ingredients needed. An electric mixer will make putting all the ingredients together and mixing them an easier task. If no electric mixer in available you can use spatulas, wooden spoons and mixing bowls to mix the ingredients together. Baking pans and baking trays are where you will put the batter before placing in the over. Rolling pins are needed to flatten the dough and take bubbles away.
Digital controls make it easy to use the various settings for white bread, whole wheat, multigrain and French breads (and other crisp crust breads). Are you in a hurry to bake a quick loaf? Easy. Simply use the rapid setting. Do you want to bake sandwich bread with a soft crust? No problem! There’s a setting for that also. You can even choose between dark or light crust colors!
For example, it took some time to be able to correctly identify active vs. yeast that had gone bad (either it was old or I killed it with too-hot water when mixing). I didn’t know what I was looking at for the first couple of times I experimented with it. It was so frustrating to have bread that did not rise!
All of these times in the kitchen together are creating future memories. For a few hours we stopped the rush of the Christmas season and enjoyed the simple pleasure of baking and enjoying each other. What a fabulous way to celebrate Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year.
